Molly’s Training and Background
Molly received a BA in Psychology and a minor in Art Studio from the University of Kentucky. At the time of her acceptance into graduate school, she had over 12 years of experience working with children and 6 years of working with adults and families in medical settings. Her desire to be able to marry her experience working in the health field and her love of the arts, drew her to Naropa University where she studied Art Therapy for 3 years. Her internships were completed working with elders at the Anam Chara Home in Boulder, CO and at the Children’s Hospital in Denver, CO in the Psychiatric Day Treatment program.
Molly is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado and a Registered Art Therapist with the American Art Therapy Association. Her work is greatly influenced by her training in Transpersonal Psychology and by her studies in meditation, body centered therapy, energetic work (Reiki), and EMDR. Molly gained much of her knowledge in working with Trauma during her employment at The Tennyson Center for Children, a residential treatment facility in Denver for abused and neglected children, and their families.
Molly has offered guidance to clients (both children and adults) with a wide range of emotional challenges. She is comfortable with issues such as depression, grief and loss, behavioral troubles, anxiety, end-of-life challenges, post-traumatic stress, and trauma related issues associated with emotional, physical, and sexual abuse.
Believing that all clients have the innate wisdom and health within themselves to heal, it is Molly’s goal to help those who are in need find their way to health and wholeness.
